Due to the lack of natural soda ash resources in China, the soda industry mainly adopts the ammonia alkali process and the Hou's Process. In 2021, the production capacity will account for 47% and 47% respectively, accounting for 94% of the total domestic soda supply.
According to the structure, glass is the product with the highest proportion in the global soda consumption. In 2021, the consumption will be 35.586 million tons, accounting for 52.1%. Other major demand areas include soap and detergent, inorganic chemicals, etc., accounting for 13.20% and 12.03% respectively.
The output of soda ash will increase steadily in 2022. The monthly production of soda ash is relatively stable. The average monthly output in the first five months of 2022 is 5700000 tons, an increase of 1% over the average monthly output in 2021.
